This is a spot on the St John's River in Florida that Mark Seaver recognized during the week he joined me back in March as a photo opportunity. I learned quickly that if he made a suggestion, it was well worth exploring as this image illustrates. Hand held from boat, Full Frame.

What a wonderful sunset with all of those clouds providing lots of contrast and color shadings. Nice reflection of that color on the water too. While I would wish the tree to be upright, the moss hanging from the branches certainly gives this image a sense of place. I like the way you used the trees on the left to frame that side of the picture. All you needed was a heron perched on top of the fallen tree to set this off!

Hi Mike, I remember this location well. The sky colors are terrific and your skilled boat handling kept us in position to use the fallen tree to add interest in the foreground as the sun set ending a great day on the river.
