Typical Cormorant flight shot just after lift-off. I liked the angle of this one and the water droplets rolling off the back of the subject as well as the detail in the river water and reflection. Hand held from boat, cropped to 78% of full frame.

This angle with the bird going away from you gives a nice view of the wing and iridescence. Sharon

Nice flight pose, Mike. It looks like there's a bit of a white rim around most of the bird. You sometimes get that sharpening a dark bird against a lighter bg.
