Excellent image of this very nice interaction between these goslings and their daddy! Each spring we usually have 2 or 3 Canada Goose families in a small nature preserve near my home. I enjoy watching how well the parents take care of their little goslings.

Awwww...... That's pretty darn cute. Nicely captured. I like the pano crop to accentuate the long neck and remove any other stuff. Very nice.

So cute!!! :toast: :toast: :toast: What a wonderful family portrait. And, the light vignette is the perfect complement to highlight the shot.

Very cute John. Great positions. The stretched out neck leaning towards the chicks speaks volumes. He's a happy dad.

A cute capture, but I worry that this is a defensive response by the adult to you, protecting the goslings? If it is, it might be better to stay back a bit. That said, the techs are excellent and the crop nicely emphasizes that long neck.

My Jim how observant of you. But it was not me he was concerned with. I spent quite a bit of time with this family and I don't believe they felt a threat, I kept my distance and they seemed to be quite used to me. We had a great blue heron each morning at the pond that they even started to tolerate without much stress. You are correct however about this being a protective position. Another mating pair, the female sitting on the eggs with the male in the water is what made this father nervous. It was fascinating to watch when these two males started to drift to close to each other. Daddy would assume that water snake look first to shield the goslings then to steer the little ones away form the threat. Here is the ensuing image of when that other male got too close for father goose.

Nice cure moment captured John. I also like the pano crop, but never really been a fan of vignettes...especially white. just a personal preference thing.
