Your high contrast 'quasi abstract' really stands out in the frame Lucy, different & creative.
I feel like I better be extra careful around all these thorns, especially when viewed large

I really like the B&W and the different subject Lucy. For me though, the orb-ish bloom on the right is somewhat distracting. To me, that bud/bloom makes the photo look more documentary to me...

Lucy - Very cool - spikes are interesting and are the repeating patterns. I find that the photo becomes more appealing to me, rotated 90 degrees clockwise.

Very cool B&W image, Lucy. I like the image in general, but it feels a trifle unbalanced to me. Having the fairly wide band of black at the top with the tips of the lower leaves chopped off doesn't feel quite right.

Really interesting comments and thank you. First, for Dennis. My original crop had indeed very little space on top but it looked to crowded so I extended the canvas. I'll experiment with a middle ground, i.e. with less of a canvas extension on the top.
For Ram. I tried a 90 degree rotation both ways since you didn't specify which and direction. It seems to work interestingly with the smaller structure on top.
Thanks again all.

Hi Lucy :wavey: Ram echoed my thoughts perfectly. i dont agree about the small structure being on top ...because its facing the short side unless you make more canvas on that side

Way interesting conversion Lucy. For me, I would like to see this with the small bud removed, but really cool vision on this.
