Eureka Valley

Another image from Death Valley NP earlier this spring. Strong afternoon winds made for challenging conditions to photograph in. The last time I photographed Death Valley dunes in this amount of blowing sand, my camera was sandblasted and stopped working. Fortunately that was not the case this time around. Using a telephoto lens kept me away from the full brunt of the wind gusts.

Real nice lines and layering and the B&W choice works very well. Real nice image. I have been out in Eureka Valley during a good wind storm and it ain't much fun.

Jon, Well seen spot. Focus seems to be on darker sand dune up front but there is no anchor to the capture. A little work and a fine image. :wavey:

No footprints with all that wind! This is lovely, with the striations and blowing sand. Glad neither you nor your camera suffered this time. I'm unsure about so much black in the lower right corner.

Wonderful BW treatment. I especially love the bottom half; hauntingly nice.

Really nice tones and layers to this Jon and nice movement in the sand in the middle area. Very nice mood also. Very nice.

Very striking b/w image Jon. I really like the mix of tones here and how you included deep blacks and bright whites. The blowing sand really makes this a dynamic image. Well done!

Hi jon :wavey: The graphic minimalist detail and lines of the dunes give us a feeling of freedom :toast:
