Golden Bay, New Zealand

One of the most beautiful spots in New Zealand. This is a view towards the end of the beach which is infrequently photographed since the Archway Islands at the opposite end are the main drawcard.

Canon 5DMkIII, 16-35mm, GND filter, single exposure

My favorite part of the image is the textured sand in the foreground, it has such a great quality of light and the shadows define the ripples beautifully. You deftly handled the exposure and processing for the DR. It looks like a special place indeed.

Very dark and moody Kah, I really like this! One suggestion would be to brighten up the top left of the sky and the water a touch. They seem a little dark to me. Well seen! :toast:

This is a beautiful and dramatic scene. You handled the exposre very well and also processing wise you did an excellent job. Most of all I love the textures and details in the sand in the foreground

Very impressive image and location. The foreground detail is really nice, leading to that great color and well-controlled light. The vignetting in the top corners is a little strong for my taste, but that's a very minor issue. :toast:

Gorgeous, The Fg is superb and a cool sunburst.
I might lighten it just a tad.

Beautiful work, Kah Kit. I really like the detail in the large view. The small view looks way darker and the vignette that much heavier. the FG is very special and your handling of the exposure is perfect.

I love the left, enough that a vertical without the right would be a worthy competitor.

Live the textures and patterns in the fg. They let me linger a bit before they lead me into the light in th bg. Stunning image. Nicely done

Peaceful and forboding at the same time Kah Kit. Nice mix of moods, and a well executed image!
