Bush Impressions

Gallery: Macro & Close-upPosted May 3, 2014114 views5 comments

Folks,

Am trying to create some artistic images, its a small beginning. To start with I felt the reflections on the plantain leaf was important, with the cricket there. Had tried various apertures and thought I will present this one ..

7D,. 70-200 F4L, F8, 1/50, 200 ISO

Thanks NPN for your support

You certainly have a unique style and unique insect images, Balan. I like the exposure and the head on, low perspective, especially with the great capture of the eyes.

Great focus at the eye/head, makes a great first 'Bush' first impression Balan!

I like the artistic comp & head-on POV here

Your view of this katydid (at least that's what it looks like) has me laughing, Balan, it looks surprised. I like the view a lot. The light coming off the leaf sets off the insect nicely. If you're going for "artistic" I suggest getting rid of the darker areas in the top and on the left next time.

Very reminiscent of the alien-looking green grasshoppers I've photographed in Costa Rica. I like how this one pops against the lighter tones of its surrounding perch.
