Rocky Landscape

Here's a presentation of a rugged and rocky landscape in the Sitka Sound area of Alaska. The rocks form a frame of the distant mountains yet are the dominant feature as well. The eagles perched on the rocks give a sense of scale. Taken with a D4 and 80-400 at f/16, 1/500 and Auto ISO. Richard

Seems the fine detail has been lost in the shadow areas. Have you used a lot of shadow recovery on this? I would think that the D4 would have performed better. Love your comp and scene. Sitka is one of the few areas in Alaska that I have not been to.

Love the eagles, especially in the larger view. Is that haloing or fog in the background?

Welcome to the Landscape gallery Richard. I like the eagles in the scene and a very pretty scene. It makes me think back to going to Haines, Alaska to see them nesting by the hundreds. Nice job on this.
