White-headed Stilt

This young stilt rivalled young galahs for incessant begging calls.
An very dull, light rain morning lying in the mud.

ISO 800 f7.1 1/800 exp comp +1/3

cheers
Rob

Excellent shot for the conditions Rob. I think the calling action adds a lot to it. The detail is excellent as always. My first reaction was to suggest trimming some of the OOF water in the foreground and then I reconsidered the length of Stilt legs and decided you needed everything you had. :toast:

Very nice understated color palette on this shot. Nice position. Simple and effective.

Despite the grey weather, the bird comes out very nicely ! Cheers, Hans

Great low angle and calling pose here Rob, some drab lighting as you said. :toast:

Love the low angle on this one Rob...also love the pose and open bill. I don't mind the OOF FG at all, but if you look at the area of water that is in focus, it almost seems like this needs about a 3-5% CW rotation. Maybe, it's just me, but it was my first thought when I opened this.

Great pose, and the image conveys the dreariness of the day quite well, Rob.
