Richard,
Great close-up of this guy, much closer than I would want to be and amazing detail in that tongue at 1/160.
Well Done . . .

I like the way the curled body of the snake and blended bg fills the frame, Richard. The closeness, pose and curled back tongue conveys a real sense of danger. Nice capture.

Great catch with the tongue out and sharpness in the right places. The blending of colors between the snake and the landscape behind it is great.

Richard--Great job with the 400. The tongue flick is an added bonus. The soft lighting works well with the subject matter ................Jim

Good comp. I really like the projecting tongue. I think you can give it another round of sharpening, at least on the side of the face and the eye.

Love the sharply curled back tongue, something you don't often see.
Nice details @ 1/160th, great comp.
Well done Richard!

Really fine focus and good bokeh on this guy. Had you considered lightening the eyeball on the snake to cause the viewer's eyes to really focus on the head? BTW, the flocking of the tongue is a real bonus. Great timing.
Best,
Carol

Just right and amazing the way the head and body in and out of focus coalesce beautifully.
