House Finch + repost

Just a house finch but I liked the setting. Yesterday the trees were all covered with ice from rain which turned into snow and it all froze. In my backyard.

Nikon D800, f 6.3, ISO 400, 1/400

Thanks for looking and critiques appreciated.

I really like this May. Nice subdued light and the snow covered branches are great. Great job with the composition.

Very nice composition. I like how the branches frame the finch. Nice pose and background. While the ice adds to the photo I hope you see spring soon.

It is nice that everyone else finds the ice covered branches appealing, Only in a photograph do they look good. What would look better is buds on the trees, or, a stretch, leaves!!!

Brrr -- I'm seeing these on cactus -- nice background and good to see a different environment for the finch -- pleasing image

May: I like this image very much, even though it is "just a house finch". The setting really tells the story. Excellent exposure and techs. I might clone the twig in the middle bottom, and the twig in the lower right corner. Not sure they add anything to the image.

Very nice colors and atmosphere... The vertical lines in the back are a little distracting to me, which they weren't there  . Otherwise fantastic ! Cheers, Hans

Beautiful May - love the perch and the soft hues. I'd almost be tempted to remove the oof twig immediately behind the bird

Very nice all around on the Finch. I would consider removing the iced twig in the lower right corner and maybe even the one projecting up vertically from below the Finch. Small nits on a excellent capture.

A lovely setting for a House finch, if not the most pleasant of weather. Hope you get spring soon!

Nice detail. I would crop/clone out the offending brf stem and bmf protruding stem. :toast:

What a stellar image May. The perch is as good as it gets and the angle of the bird doesn't get much better either. Perfect head angle. Clean background. Lovely in all aspects. :toast:

Thanks for all the nice comments on this image. Some of you wanted me to remove some of the foliage on the lower right and the out-of-focus foliage on the left, also some of you found the background lines distracting. Here is the image rebuilt. I personally like the original better or maybe I just don't like all the work I did on the image!!!!
