Eastern Towhee

Caught this Eastern Towhee in the woods. I think I was close to it's nest, because it was making it's call constantly. Shot hand held at 400mm, f/5.6, 1/320 sec., ISO 640.

Nice pose; interesting texture on the perch.

There's a slight greenish color cast that is easily corrected by shifting everything g a bit more to magenta.

I was just watching this species 20 minutes ago.. On the ground and too far way as usual :frown:
Tack sharp details, cool perch. I agree with Rich about the slight green cast, easily corrected.
Very nice Thomas!:toast:

Very nice, and nice to get him out in the open. The colors seem a bit subdued to me. A slight boost in both saturation and exposure would make this pop a little more. :toast:

Nice pose, perch and BG. The detail looks good. I would agree on the slight color cast. Well done for the lighting you had.

I really like the perch and pine needles in the bg. Nice bird to catch so cleanly. Sharon

Nice pose and environment. I think the green needles in the background add to the image. Helps with overall context. There is a color cast, and it is bit dark. Larger version did not have a color profile embedded so colors shift. Here's a version with a color correction and a slight luminance adjustment. See what you think.

I like the setting you caught this towhee in. I usually only see them on the ground. Agree with the comments on color cast. Nice detail. Keith's example is right on. Thanks for sharing.

Nice pose, Thomas, and I like the spray of pine needles in the bg. The nits have been well covered.

Love the setting Thomas - particularly the combination of the perch and the needles in the background
