Raindrops on Lilies 3

On a rainy day where it's varied from light rain to full downpour, I thought I'd try to catch some more raindrop rebounds. I want good sharpness across the frame for both the lily pads and the rebound drops, which requires a major bump in iso and much increased noise. Maybe someday I'll get moderate rain under brighter conditions.... (5D3, 100mm macro L, 1/640s, f/14, iso 8000, tripod & raingear)

Your cam held the line well at ISO 8000, minimal noise Mark.
Cool image, I imagine they're rain drop devouring Pac-Men
Well done! :toast:

Looks really nice, Mark. Can't say I'm seeing the noise per se, but at 8000 hard to beat that issue. What a great scene and image for the theme too.
I'm kind of with Howard on this one, I surely saw these as the Pac Man type figures......wonderful take here.

Great image for the theme, Mark. And very well taken too! I really like the comp you found with the 3 similar colored pads in different sizes balanced by the larger green pad. The drops on the pads and the drops falling on the water add so much to this image. And you even caught some drops on the rebound! Another great image from your pond. . .

Congrats on the WP, Mark. Great shot. Your ISO 8000 has less noise than my camera @ ISO 400. The only small nit I have is the underwater stem? ? shooting up from the UR pad. I would probably clone it out. :toast:
