Africa's Great Rift Valley, from the Subukia Viewpoint in Kenya, Alt. 2250 m.

---> Please tell me if I used the photomerge function in PS correctly.

This is my FIRST time trying it out. Is there distortion or anything else? I truly don't even know what to look for. I attempt a landscape image almost never (this is my first post in about 2 years in this gallery, and my next may be in 2016!). This is a comp of 3 images.

Any and all critiques are WELCOME! Thank you, Landscape people.

Also - if there are too many houses in the image, feel free to move it on over to Man and Nature - wasn't sure where to post.

Pretty cool pano here. Looks like quite a view and a lot to see in the large version! There is some distortion on the horizon. You can try using the Wide Angle Filter in PS and indicate to the software what should be a straight line. As long as you have enough image canvas, you can correct it pretty easily. Also looks like your cloud in the top left is lacking some fine detail in the brights - if you do not have another, darker exposure it may be what it is, or if you are so inclined you may consider cloning it all out for congruence with the rest of the sky.

Did this correct the horizon?

Nice expansive view, Rebecka! A place i dont see too much photos from too. I think the repost looks corrected. It depends on the effect you want, but if you want to avoid distortion use the option in photomerge that just lines up the images without compensating for perspective (forget what its called off the top of my head). Ill make you a deal--ill post a couple this year in avian if you post more in landscape.

now that happens to be a scene i know extremely well - and as it happens, i'll be driving along there this coming saturday (from the other direction - i.e., driving towards where you're standing ...). heck, my grandfather used to farm the area many, many years ago (but slightly to the north i.e., to the right of the image). knowing it is a bit of a disadvantage actually because i'm not entirely sure your image does the drama of the place full justice. still, it is good to see it here with the vibrant greens and your stitching is well done - i kinda like the distortion in the original post.

I think the original works best, 'distortion' included..
Looks like an excellent stitch job from what I can see in the larger post Rebecka.
A place I'll never see, I envy your travels :wavey:
Well done :toast:
