Swamp Reflections
by Bill Chambers
Took my grandson (13 years old) to the swamps and marshes last week for some camping, canoeing, and shooting. Had a blast even the area was flooded from high local rainfall. Still had an opportunity to hike through some of the higher locations in a beautiful site known as Hell's Half Acre. The site is somewhat misnamed as long as you go there during cold or cool weather but VERY appropriately named during the hotter months. Even though the water is dark and tannic, the reflections were beautiful with all the fresh spring green and swamp flowers blooming yellow.
