These were the kind of jays I loved growing up in Ohio, and I like them much better than our California Stellar and Scrub jays.

A lovely shot, Sandy. Tack sharp, a good angle and the classic cocked head. Wish the crest was up a bit more, but you can't have everything.

Nancy and I have seen this species as far west as Burgdorf Hot Springs in central Idaho. You may be seeing them in California soon enough.

Only half-criticism I have is that when I view large, the foliage to the right of his head distracts me. Well, that, and he looks like he took a shower with a low-flow shower head. That's his fault though, not yours ;)

He's really sharp, and colors look great to me.

I love this species as well.
