Stormy Skies

Grand Canyon, Arizona

Another image from 2007. One great thing about visiting the desert in later summer is the build up of storm clouds each afternoon.

Thanks for having a look.

Brings back fond memories. Good depth to the image. Would suggestion a crop to eliminate the partial rocks on the bottom and possibly a little more crispness/sharpness to enhance the details in the background.

Beautiful view! I like the understated tones and mood. I would agree with Patricia's suggestion of a little crop off the bottom. Real nice image!

I also like the subdued soft light here and colors.
It looks like this at times, not easy to avoid oversaturation and yo did a nice job.

Beautiful take on the canyon, Eva. Man I wish I had these kind of images lurking on my hard drive. The large view is very, very nice.

Really cool, dramatic view Eva that is dripping with mood. Love the rain in the BG. The texture and curve of the canyon is really nice too.

Nice shot. I like the soft light and the muted colours. I wouldn't crop the image as suggested in some comments, because cropping would destroy the overall balance in the composition IMO. Well done

Amazing amount of detail! Very nice, and for me there is no need for a crop, I like it the way it is. Maybe darkening the upper left corner a bit?

Great view and well composed, Eva. The processing is a little different - almost like a subtle bleach bypass filter - I like the sky, but the land processing is a little too 'crunchy' for my tastes.

Love it Eva. The pastels and the subdued contrast really gives this a quiet mood which is very appealing. The large image almost has a three-dimensional look to it which is quite remarkable.

The larger view is a must see. It works so much better than the 720 px version because the distant river pulls much more attention. In addition, the details and subtle colors in the foreground work much better. The tremendous sense of distance adds another fine layer of complexity.

I agree, the summer thunder storms out there are impressive. Had to drive back to Sedona from Lake Powell in the dark while lightning was filling the sky. Actually had to pull over once because it was raining so hard I couldn't see!

This is a nice image with lots of nice color!

I like how ominous this is. The processing seems a bit more structuralized than I see normally from you, neither good nor bad, just an observation.
