626 - Enjoying the view

Wild flowers on Thompson Pass, Alaska. They were more colorful from the back because only the yellow shows on the front plus the view was much nicer from that angle. I shot a few shots from both directions but the back shot was hands down the better image.

The shallow DOF and the color contrast between the yellow flowers and the bluish background make this photo a success, Gary. Nice capture!

Very nice indeed, Gary. This works well for the theme and also includes an excellent backdrop of river and mountaintop. The shallow DOF is a perfect take overall. Although appearing to be a bit midday this shot works best in this light from all accounts.

Like this very much, Gary - the perspective from fg to the distant mountains works well in showing off the beauty of the flowers. Some nice fg detail too.

Wow, not only do the flowers look lovely from the back, but your background is amazing too! However, the flowers still rightly command the most attention due to your handling of the DOF, but also due to the vividness of the color and details in the flowers. The colors throughout the image are lovely and complement each other so well. My only thought would be a bit of a crop up from the bottom to get rid of the some of the brown roots (?) and partially cover the one OOF leaf. Beautiful image, Gary.

This shot proves its sometimes more rewarding to look at things from unusual viewpoints. Nice lighting in this scene and very sharp; enjoy seeing the hairs along the stems; the out-of-focus background helps to establish the plant's habitat as well. Thanks for sharing.

The back view of the flowers is great with both the blooms and the leaves sharp. The background provides a very attractive but subtly soft sense of place.
