Hot Enough?

Not a classic landscape but I thought this was an interesting image from my local nature area. I was out early yesterday and came upon this scene soon after sunrise. To me it looked like there was a fire and not too distant. The rising sun certainly looked like a fire (or maybe an alien landing site). I like the intensity of the colors and all of the little points of light poking through the vegetation. I didn't do much to the photo except bring back the highlights a bit, added a little saturation, a little more contrast, and tweaking the blacks and shadows. Everything mostly small. This is full frame but I'm curious if others might have composed this differently with a tighter crop or shot the scene wider? Comments and critiques are welcome.

Non traditional for sure. At first I didn't like the oof foreground but it does add a bit of context for me. If it were in focus it might even be distracting. I would be curious about a crop without it. Overall to me it's a successful try at something different. Nice work Peter

I am liking this one. The shallow DOF works for me and the bright area almost looks like a window to another world. Well done.

Go towards the light, but don't hit your head in the process. Out of the box, can be refreshing and something in this image, is speaking to me.

Yes, this is different and i like different when it works, and for the most part this does. I think i would have preferred more focus in the fg--soft aint necessarily bad as a counterpoint, but here the OOF is not that appealing for me--either the subject, quality of blur, or amount of it...one of those things  I really like a crop tho! :argue:
