This is a stunner. The diagonal lines of the creek (I'm assuming) converge at the coyote. The snow covered trees in the background give a wonderful sense of winter. The exposure of the coyote and snow is spot on. The coyote is also very sharp. The fact that he has a bison bone in his mouths makes this even more interesting. This image is hitting on all cylinders for me. Where in Yellowstone was this taken?

Great capture. The techs looks good right down to the nice detail in the snow. The comp is excellent.

That's quite a bone he has found for himself. The photo appears as if the saturation was reduced slightly, I like the effect, however it has come to be. Would have been nice if his limbs were a bit more exposed, but one of those "could've, should've, might've things. A very interesting and unique coyote photo with some nice habitat.

Beautifully exposed. I love the effect of the snow covered trees, just enough behind the subject to become secondary interest rather than distraction. It is hard to have any nits, but if seeking improvement, you might try a crop of some of the foreground to move the coyote lower in the frame and to remove some of the "non-functioning" empty space in the lower left. However that creates some problems with the vegetation in the lower right corner. Hmmm. I notice the sloping ground and various angles of the trees in the background. I made a test grab of your image and used the tiny parallel trees with light between them (directly over the coyotes head) as a vertical reference and rotated the image 3.4 degrees counter-clockwise. To me it came out perfect, keeping the lower right vegetation, minimizing lower left white space and it made the coyote more level in feel. At that point I would print it and hang it on a wall! Try it and see what you think.

That's a big bone for this coyote. I like the starkness of the snow and trees and how that lets the coyote's tones stand out. Both the X of the stream and the clump of sage (lrc) add nicely.

Great shot of the coyote (and it's bone)IMO greatly enhanced by the snowy setting. Wish I was in Yellowstone right now.
