Colugo Flying Lemur

This is a Colugo (Flying Lemur) taken in February 2014. These creatures rest on the bark of the tree all day and at night they climb to the top the tree and jump. They glide from tree to tree giving them the name 'flying Lemur'.

I got to see them fly in the dark with a flash light however getting a shot of them flying in the dark, was challenging and luck was not around.

Photo was edited and cropped with Adobe photoshop.

Canon EOS 7D
EF200mm f/2.8L USM
f/2.8
1/200

An amazing shot. I have never seen a lemur "roosted"(?) like this. You handled the tricky exposure and narrow zone of focus well. :toast:

I assume it would be very difficult to find one of these guys at eye level. Good job with that! Gliding nocturnally seems almost an impossible capture. I wonder about the coloration of the coat. Does it have greenish tint for camo or am I seeing reflected green from the surroundings. Photographically, one would ideally hope to not have the black shadow cutting across his body. Thanks for sharing an animal that is likely virtually unknown to most of us!
