Breeding Males

Where to post this. Could be Avian. But decided the deer where the dominant subjects. But the turkeys weren't far behind. They all are males in their breeding condition. I took this sort of on a lark to see how it might come out. Ok, but not great. A group of turkeys passed by these bedded down bucks then a couple came back and seemed to stop by these guys. Not sure what was going on but an interesting grouping. I didn't do too much to this shot. Mostly I cropped about 25% from top and right and that was a big help. I warmed things up a little, added contrast, and opened up the shadows some. Does this work as an interesting image?

I think this is a solid image. All of the subjects are not tack sharp, but the separation made that difficult, if not impossible. It is an interesting grouping of wildlife. Seeing all these guys together must have been a thrill. Thanks for sharing.

Definitely one worth taking. You don't get to see interaction, even casual interaction, like this everyday. The exposure is good. The comp a little centered. You might consider trimming the left a little. Jerry already noted that the F6.3 wasn't going to give the DOF to keep them all sharp given the spacing, but on this shot I'm not as concerned with that. It is much more about the behavior. Thanks for sharing this.

Cool to see them together like this, Peter. I think it would be stronger photographically if there was some separation between them so the body lines did not merge and overlap.
