White Rim Sunrise
by Ken Henke
Not the best light due to variable cloud cover in the east, but I did manage to get just one series of shots where the sun peaked through just enough to illuminate the bluffs. Great time to be in Canyonlands with so very few people!
This image is a three image horizontal stitch, with some exposure blending as well. Still have not come close to mastering panos. Could have sworn I had the tripod head and camera level, yet I was not able to stitch the 3 images together without losing some parts of the pano. Next time I'll do vertical stitches to provide some leeway for cropping.

4 commentsMy 2 cents.....As you mentioned, the light on the right side bluffs is really nice. Wish there was more on the rest of the canyon. The majority of the image just doesn't have enough 'life' to it. Hope that makes sense. The sunset has almost too much saturation when compared to the canyon.
Pano looks good. Is this a place you can get back to, to catch it at different times with better light? I'd like to see that.
