Back Basin trail, Norris Geyser Basin, Yellowstone Nat. Park. Canon 5D3. 24-105 f/4. ISO 200. 1/350 s. f/19.

See Larger Version for best detail.

I will also post the mono version, which I like very much as well. For me, though, the color enhances the mystery of the scene. Thanks for viewing!

That looks very inviting! Especially considering the dreadful winter we have had over here (Sweden).... The color adds a lot to the atmosphere so I prefer it over the monochrome version.

I looked several times at each version and I think I prefer the b/w. Both versions are very nice. It's been a long time since I've been to Yellowstone in the winter and I miss it's beauty. I like how this shot portrays that excitement you get in YNP to see what's around the corner. Very nice, Doug. :toast:

The color version does it for me. The FG - trail in both versions have wonderful DOF and to my eye that feeling of drawing you in continues with the color version. With the B&W version I don't sense the depth into the sky. I love the mood you captured here. :toast:

Doug, These are both excellent!! I don't think I can pick a favorite because they both work so well for me. Maybe I might lean towards the color... Excellent work capturing the wonderful mood here.

Wonderful light in this Doug and a very nice composition. Also a very peaceful mood to the scene. I like both but the color version by a nose. Really nice.

Stunning image Doug. In this case, I do prefer the color version. Great light and a sense of mystery.
