Broken River

Checking a map, I believe that this is the Broken River between Christchurch and Arthur's Pass, Canterbury, New Zealand. There are several different streams and creeks that come together in this vicinity on the map that I'm using, but there's only one "river" noted. The Craigieburn Range is in the background.

This photograph is the product of stitching several images together.

Taken on our last tour of the South Island last June.

Tim!

A nice landscape, in harsh light. You could try toning down the whites a bit, especially the peak on the left, which is blown. I would work on the shadows on the right.

Wow! This amasses high mtns and low shrub-land and tough light to boot. A nice pano looking scene..and I agree w/Phil to try to mute the whites, if possible. I like the sickle shaped stream knifing through the foreground.

As mentioned already, the snow seems over-exposed. You've caught the grandeur of the NZ landscape very well here. The low clouds bisecting the peaks are particularly nice.

The color of blue in the sky is wonderful. The river leading to those beautiful peaks is really nice as well. The left side doesn't hold up quite so well to my eye; I'd crop to near the edge of the mountain behind. Just a hint more shadow detail, if there, would also add.
