Rob,
Well I suppose you had to post a relatively "dull" bird once in a while. I actually like the "muted" colours.
Great pose detail and background :toast: :toast:

Lovely pose and setting. Head-turn and focus are spot-on.

Great sharpness and detail in the larger version, good job with this high ISO. You encountered quite some species in Thailand ! Makes me want to go back there  . TFS, Hans

Wonderful shot Rob, looks like you and Simon are getting some very interesting birds in Thailand, way to go.

I have to say, the image looks fab for ISO 3200 Rob, a testament to Canon quality
Very nice head turn, sharp and well composed..
Really appreciate your work in the 'forest understorey' of Thailand:toast:

Excellent image, Rob, and a good lesson in technique. So many people think they need a high shutter speed, but for perched birds this demonstrated that "it ain't necessarily so" (though my experience is that a lot of the frames will have some motion blur, even small birds like this pause occasionally).

The shade-loving flycatchers are tough. Very well done just getting the shot. I like the head turn and background, the excellent detail. If it were mine, I might pull the brightness of the perch down just a bit, especially above the bird, but that's a minor nit on a fine photo.

Nice image Rob...I like the diagonal leaves in the BG and how they seemed aligned in the same angle of the bird. Thailand looks to be like a lot of fun. Looking forward to seeing more.
