Holding the Line
by Thomas Haney
A fellow member of the Wolf Creek Hotshots watches the green for spot fires during an overnight shift on a fire in New Mexico in 2012. There's not much room in a fire pack for camera gear so I usually carry an Olympus micro 4/3 and a couple lenses and the image quality often leaves something to be desired, but I was pleasantly surprised with how it handled this low light situation with no tripod.
