These little 'butter balls' flit from rock to rock amongst the rapids. This is the female; the male is a deep leaden grey with a bright rufous rump and tail.

ISO 1600 f7.1 1/320

cheers
Rob

Another species I've not seen before, very nice look at the little 'butter ball'.
Great job managing the exposure here, nice detail :toast:

Very nice look at a bird I have never heard of (quite a name also). I like the rounded puffed up pose, way to go Rob.

A fascinating species and a fine image. Plumage and tail much like a wren; behavior and overall shape much like a dipper.

I like the way the colors of the bird, the BG and the perch all mesh together. Very nice.

Looks like a very cute bird, rob. I love the way her plumage echoes the rock.

Nice, sharp image of the female, some fill flash might have helped tame the bright bg here. :toast:

Super sharp details on the bird. I like the rock and the low perspective you have, but am a bit distracted with the little light circles in the image. A very cool bird...another I did not know existed! Thanks for sharing. Sharon
