Hello Everyone,

Please give me your C & C thank you. I also did it in black and white which I think I like better. In the Meantime what do you think of the colored one? I think this might be part of the Grand Canyon this was taken leaving Zion National Park going towards Bryce Canyon.

Conditions were just after a rain that is why the sky is gray and the sun did not come out the whole day it rained on and off. Nikon D800 ISO 160 105mm F16 1/20 sec on Tri-pod

Thank You,
Cindy

Composition is OK but the blown out white sky is a big problem for me. This might be less obvious in BW. There's some softness on the larger version which hints at some technical problem during the capture.

I concur with Kah. If you post the techs of the image it would be easier to comment about possible issues with the exposure and softness.

Very nice scene and comp Cindy. Seems like a lot of yellow in this scene which might be natural though. I think a D800 file would have some sky detail you could pull out of the sky and more sharpness also. It's a very nice scene that is worth working on a bit.

Over the years, I've found shooting under heavy overcast conditions like these very challenging. If you include the sky, it shows up as uniform (and uninteresting/distracting) white. On the other hand, you get nicely saturated colors if you exclude the sky and there are hints of that in the canyon here. Because of how bright the sky is here, the landscape here seems quite dark and muddy. As others have noted, even the larger version seems a bit soft. I would expect a sharper result with a ss of 1/20s and 105mm on a tripod, but that's about where I switch to a cable release because I tend to be heavy handed with my shutter press.
