I love birds which seem too big for the perch!! Great depth of filed on this too. Great stuff!!

Good catch! I have tried many times, but they are almost unapproachable here. Excellent pose, perch and detail.

Love these birds, although I've never had the opportunity to shoot one.
Very good techs Scott. I like the under-sized perch, making the bird seem even larger.
Well done!

Just an awesome image. These birds are so difficult to get close to but you got a really beautiful shot and with such a curious look on the bird.

really nice, Scott. very good pose, nice composition. for me the molting breast feathers (older brownish ones with fresher gray ones coming in) add a lot of interest. in the larger version I see some noise in the shadowed lower breast, perhaps from cropping or exposure adjustments?

Exceptional capture of this small beauty Scott. I've yet to get a decent photograph of a kingfisher. Really like the head turn and catch light in the eye.

Great inquisitive pose! This bird has been very difficult for me to get close to...they fly anytime they are approached! Nice details, too. Sharon
