Another late afternoon shot showing the dark water. I liked the good look at the eye on this guy. It really stands out. It is a little tight on the left, but I had no more canvass. Taken at a small pond in Fort Worth, Texas.

Comments and Critiques welcome.

The shot is excellent in all respects, Jerry. One small nit which is due to my personal feeling - I'm not a great fan of pictures framed in black. I won't go into details. David

The colors are great with good feather detail - ditto the frame in that frames around birds tend to box in the bird and seems like the bird is in a cage and not free roaming -- just my personal taste

I like the dark water background and the contrast it presents with the lighter colors of the widgeon. For me it is interesting to see a different background that you do not normally see. If you can get down to a water level perspective that would really make this image stand out even more, way to go.

Canvas frame is fine with me and the north Texas visitor is beautiful Jerry. I love the different migratory birds we get tis time of year in Dallas. :toast:

You have very nice detail on this good looking Drake Jerry. I don't find the bird too tight in the frame and I like the contrast the dark background offers the comp. :toast:

Lovely, Jerry. I like the look of the Widgeon and the lovely water. The distorted reflection of the head is especially cool.

I like the pose and the dark mood created by the bg water. Your details on the larger version are excellent. I like your framing, and think it adds to a nicely finished product. Just a tad tight at the tail. Sharon
