Another new bird for me compliments of the Bosque! This bird literally came to greet me on several late afternoons while watching the ducks near the flight deck, flitting from stem to stem just at the water's edge. BB from car window. BG is water, not sky.

50D, 700mm, ISO 500, F9, 1/800 LARGER version is also provided. Thank you for your comments/critiques...I appreciate them and learn from them all! Sharon

A remarkable shot in a number of respects, Sharon. The bird reminded me immediately of our Red Starts - in this instance a female in the uncommon species Phoenicurus moussieri. Mmmm..... the background - I like it as it is and to Heck with arty ripple reflections. I also like the dainty perch that is so fitting for this female - I wonder what the Upright pole-perch Brigade are going to say about this one.

Very nice Sharon. Incredible feather detail on a wonderful perch. I've been envious of Keith and Doug ever since the workshop that they're so close to Bosque and we're so far away.

Very good sharpness & DOF, nice pose atop this vertical perch Sharon.
A species of flycatcher I've never seen here, cool look with its orange underside:cool:
The neutral gray BG works well, nicely done :toast:

It is fun to have a cooperative bird every once in awhile to keep us going, very nice close up shot of this Phoebe, way to go.

Beautiful, Sharon. I kept seeing these when I was there, but for some re4ason never quite close enough. Superb detail and a great head turn. Well done.

definitely one of those birds that just sometimes pops up right beside you and hangs out for a bit--but try to find one or get close to one, no way--it's up to them! nice pose, excellent details. maybe not the most exciting setting, but a very solid shot of an oft-overlooked and cool bird.
