I found this attractive hen in a local lake. It was late afternoon and the water was pretty dark. I liked the effect.

Comments and critiques welcome.

The black water makes this a vry unusual and intriguing image.

This is very nice Jerry!
I like it a lot as is.
You might consider a slight curves adjustment to bring up those mid-tones a tad..
Well done! :toast:

Wonderful low POV and expression on her. The inky dark water is also quite interesting. I agree with Howard a slight tweak to brighten the mid-tones might make her really pop. :toast:

Jerry: I like the darker water in this image. Creates an interesting mood. i do think the image needs a tweak in brightness and mid tone contrast as suggested by Howard. Here's a quick adjustment that I think makes the image pop a lot more.

Keith,

I think your adjustment made for a better image. Thanks for taking the time to do this.

I like the darker water as a background which helps show off the duck more. I might consider taking some off the top OOF area for more of a pano presentation but a very interesting shot as is.

Very interesting image Jerry. The adjustment intensifies the contrast between the duck and the beautiful background.

Lovely image, Jerry. I like the way she seems so low in the water and the quality of the water is superb.

I really like the dark, almost foreboding, feel of this Jerry
