I don't do a lot of street photography but last year I was working in Edmonton for a few months and played around with it a little while I was there. There was a lot of people out and about on the night I took this shot so rather than wait for an opportunity where the sidewalk was empty I decided just to roll with it and see what the long exposure yielded. I actually like the result a lot and would love to try it out again (not to mention there was a nice pub right behind where I was standing and I wouldn't mind visiting again as well). Thanks for looking, and comments and suggestions appreciated.

Your long exposure did a fine job of "disappearing" the people. I also like the view straight down the side walk and how the brightest lights are off in the distance. This is very well "set up" and executed.

Carey, I love that you went with B&W and you've used the local lighting really well. Perfect viewpoint. It took a while to find the ghosts!!! :toast:

Great illustration of how to make people disappear with a long exposure, Carey. I, too, had to look carefully to find the "ghosts". I like your perspective of looking down the sidewalk and your overall comp. This photo fits in well with our theme because, while it looks cold because of the snow, the lighting also gives it a feeling of "warmth". The lit doorway on the left, in particular, seems like an invitation to come inside where it is warm.
