Junco

My plans to photograph eagles were changed due to weather, so I went out to the nearby nature center and got this shot of a male junco, the bird I have been trying to get a good photo of this winter. This is a convert from RAW. The RAW image was much sharper, not sure why the loss. Still, I am pleased with this image.

It appears sharp as is to be honest, but if you feel it isn't, you can apply a touch more once the final resized image is made. Wonder whether you have more room around (suspect it may be a cropped image?) as it looks too crammed for my taste. And the tight comp also lacks a bit of balance.

The sharpness on the head in particular looks very good to me. I understand why you went with a tight crop here with the busy background and it looks like an oof plant in the bottom right. Very nice John :toast:

Nice as posted.

I don't know what app you used for raw conversion, but I think you can set Adobe Camera Raw to apply sharpening to the image while you view it that isn't applied to the converted output. I, like a lot of others, prefer to do sharpening only as the last step after an image is resized for posting, and you could always add a touch more to this if you felt it needed it (I think it looks good as posted).
