I spent two nights in Moeraki just to shoot the famous boulders there, had different compositions, this is one of the comp i like which is showing as one boulder is heading towards the town.

Moeraki, South Island, New Zealand

Canon 1Ds MarkIII, EF 24-105mm @ 93mm, f/16, 3.2sec, ISO100, Hitech 3stops GND, Gitzo Tripod + RRS BH-55

I like your placement of the boulder here and the turquoise water is wonderful. There's a strong brightness change about 1/3 down from the top from your GND. I'd suggest some dodging and burning to reduce how sharp that change is, plus I'd like to see some addition detail in the distant town.

I love rocks and this picture "turns me on"... excuse the expression. NZ is one of my dream places to visit one day. I have open invitations from friends who live there, so one day. I love the detail in the rock and its comp against the aqua-marine water is striking. Great capture.

Thank you very much, Daniel!!!

You are lucky to have that open invitation, NZ surely is a beautiful lovely place in the world to visit, so full of beauty of landscape, my top best photography so far was from there, so i also hope to visit there again one day and i can do better than what i did before.

A touch more space to the right would have been nice Tareq but that aside I think it's a lovely shot.

Cheers, Gary.

I know Gary, i should have that composition, but maybe i was in difficult position to have it, or i was in rush and didn't think about it, now i am sure if i can go there again i can do different compositions, and later on time i will show more shots much better than this from Moeraki here, just keeping my best shots to the end.

Cool spot and image. Very likeable overall. what hits me first though is how close to the right border the boulder is- seems it could use some breathing room there. I would also try to slightly darken the center band of sea to blend to the top & bottom.

Thank you very much for your comments Bob.
Yes, i should give more room to the right, i didn't crop from right or left, but i did crop from top and bottom, but overall maybe this composition is not that much great then, well, i will post another shots of the boulders later.

Thanks all!

I've had about 5 sessions at Moeraki over the past month. Kudos on finding a quite original take, I've seen a lot of photos from here. I'm personally quite happy with the processing as presented.

Hi Tareq!

The colors are beautiful, and the over all composition nice. Others may have said this, but the composition might benefit from more space to the right of the boulder; perhaps as much as below it. This is a pleasing image of a gorgeous scene.

Thank you very much, Randy, yes i agree, this composition made some kind of unbalance and have more space to the left, not sure if i have another shot where i placed the boulder to the left.

Now i really don't know which shot i have of all landscapes i did to post, i feel no shot i have without something wrong, i may need to hire one person in my area who can view all my photos then choose only the top best i have to post here.

Tareq: How cool is this? I've never seen these and then to have it so artistically presented. Wonderful shot.>=))>

Bill, thank you very much for your comment.
It is not at the best, but i will not give up, i really wish to visit here again and i can do better than what i did before, i spent only 2 nights there and maybe the weather wasn't that perfect, so i did what i could do, and again, i keep the best shots for last.
