It is not very often you see one of these in the "open", unfortunately with an OOF branch in just the wrong place, but never mind

Nice one, Ken. Is that supposed to be Shrike? Looks like you kept the reds just under saturation where they belong. Excellent job.

Very cool looking bird. I've never seen one. The reds don't have detail as they seem beyond the saturation capabilities of the sensor. Don't know if you could pull them back or not.

Sorry everybody it is indeed a Shrike, my typing is awful
Also sorry for not giving details of the location, it was outside our acommodation in Mokala National Park, South Africa.
Thanks for your comments, with regard to the reds the detail is not to bad in the RAW, I should have looked more closely after converting to JPEG

I saw several of these in madikwe earlier this year. Unfortnately none of them posed for me as nicely as this. A very beautiful bird.
The blacks and whites are super but for me the red is a bit over saturated - at least I assume that is the reason i cannot pick out very much detail.

Nice shot with pose and sharpness. This is also very good reference image for 200-400 lens at 560mm.
