Not sure if I need to move this to Man and Nature?? Another Bosque Kestrel, this one taken about 50 yards from the gate in nice evening light. Unfortunately, she landed on one of the inlet pipe fittings!

50D, 700mm, ISO 200, F5.6, 1/640 LARGER version provided. Thanks for your comments/critiques...I appreciate them all! Sharon

Hi Sharon: This is just fine in Avian. Yes, the perch is unfortunate, but the bird image is very nice. Nice light. Great to see the details in that tail. I like your composition. Works well.

Sharon, the bird against that background is gorgeous. I could care less about the perch! :toast:

I'm fine with the perch - it is nicely weathered and the color compliments the kestrel. A good pose, light, and detail.

A nice rusty lead screw for the sluice gate is fine with me as a perch, Sharon. Lovely light, a good head turn and as sharp as a tack. Well done.

Fine where it is I reckon Sharon and a great pic it is too. Its always one of my favourite poses with the headlooking back.
Good stuff.

Spectacular image. The pipe is not ideal, but it's still a keeper.

I'm not crazy about the perch, but I love the light, pose and setting.

Good color matching between the bird and the perch - don't care about this perch - it was there.. Nice shot, Cheers, Hans

I think the perch is nice in that it matures the colors of the bird and the background and adds a unique texture. I would be very happy with this image
