Winter's Day

Shot this at Gulf Islands National Seashore on Santa Rosa Island about a week ago on a cold (for Florida) and windy day. Even though it was cold, the light was warm. Please view the LARGE version for better detail.

Terrific light, Bill and beautiful warm color.
I might have taken a few steps back?

Very pretty scene Bill with great light on the beach. The water color is very nice. I might clone out the out of focus leak BL but other than that this is really nice. Great job.

The dual tonalities here between blue and peach-colors really set off these white sands of North Florida. And they belie the fact that it was actually cold at the time. I'm guessing, since the sun is behind your right shoulder here, that this is a sunset rather than a sunrise. Always good to see posts from you. I will retire at the end of the month, and plan to spend a lot more time in the Sunshine state afterwards for the sake of photography.

The texture and light are really nice and I like how the horizon line of the surf creates a beautiful line mimicking the clouds. Very soothing scene.

I miss the ocean, Bill. And, even more acutely thanks to this beautiful image. The isolation and expanse is as appealing as a siren's song.

That golden hue is really nice and I love the lines in the sand. I agree with Bill about the blurred object in the bottom left, but it might be challenging to clone that out. Overall, I really like this. It might have been cold out, but the warm tones make it very inviting!

Bill, this is wonderful! The lighting is so gentle and warm and I really like how you grab my eyes with the sea oats on the left and then swing them right and off into the distance with the dune, water, clouds and sky. This sure does not look like bitter cold.

I really like the light here Bill, but to be honest the grasses on the left side of the frame don't do anything for me. :wavey:

Love this. The light is beautiful. I love the leading line from the grasses out onto the beach and water.
