Nikon D300, 70-200 2.8 + TC 1.7 @240mm. F/8, 1/400, ISO 400.

This pretty little female Downy Woodpecker was perched beautifully on a lichen covered perch, waiting to be admired.

Just plain gorgeous, Albert. Wonderful color and texture in the lichen and add the snow and perfectly exposed and focused Downy and it just doesn't get any better.

Excellent work on this downy image. The details are wonderful and I like the slightly parted bill. Sharon

A beautiful winter capture of this gal Albert. Great perch with the snow embedded among the lichen.

Very nice Albert. The perch is indeed interesting, as, of course, is the bird.
