After seeing Keith's sunset image, I cannot help but agree that these are among the most impressive scenes in the early and late hours of the sweet light in New Mexico. So I thought I would post this one, shot near the Flight Deck after the blastoff December 3rd.

Those are some intense colors with a very strong reflection. I would like to see hints of detail in the distant hills, if possible.

Great shot - the lighting is spectacular - there was one mention of more detail in the distant hills. I disagree in that this shot is all about the fantastic lighting and nothing to do about the hills which makes a wonderful silhouette to help set off and differentiate the sky and the reflection of the magnificent sunset. Makes we want to throw my sunset shots into the delete bin!

Amazing light and color in this image, Bill. This must have been a pleasure to witness. To me this image has more of an abstract feel as it is more about color and lines than a literal landscape (so I'm not worried about seeing detail in the mountains). The symmetry works well here as the repetition in the sky and reflection remind me of a piece of music that takes a common melodic theme and repeats it with a subtle change in rhythm.
