One of my favorites from 2010, shot during a very rare snow event here in Central Texas.
F/8, 1/250th, ISO 500, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8
All the best this holiday season!

This is one of your best Howard,
You can feel the cold and such a great setting.
Outstanding image and perfect for this WC . . .

Looks like it belongs on a greeting card or calendar! Amazingly, I cannot recall ever seeing a female cardinal, but I certainly see a lot of males.

I have to agree, oh wait, I did see this on an e-card just recently. Looks like others could see this as being used in that configuration just as you did recently Howard. What a great subject in this scene.

Beautiful job, Howard. I've never had the patience for such great bird pics. Perfect for a holiday greeting.

A beautiful bird and an excellent capture, Howard! I really like how the background colors match the colors of the bird. A great holiday winter photo and it would make a nice card.

It's nice to see the female get some attention for a change! Very well taken shot, Howard. Good details, accurate coloring, nice perch, and undistracting (but very wintery looking) background. The horizontal orientation works great but it could also lend itself well to a vertical orientation, if you wished. I can see why it is one your favorites!

She is one beautiful bird, Howard. The diffuse lighting really lets her colors show and I like how the bits of falling snow in the background complete the story.
