Here's another image I took in Johnston Canyon early this year. I used a ND filter on this one and it was a bit of a challenge to get a clean shot given the number of people on the trail but I finally got a break.

Thanks for looking comments and suggestions appreciated.

Nikon D7000
Nikkor 18-200
f/16
8secs (ND filter)
iso 100

Really nice Carey! I particularly like the blue/gold reflections on the open water - and yes, it is quite a challenge to get an image there with no people

Another beautiful shot of this canyon, Carey! Excellent exposure, colors and detail. I like the composition although a bottom crop to just below the first open water might make it a bit more balanced.

Nice POV in this shot of looking upstream into the canyon. The blue and gold reflections in the stream really make this image "sing". As in your other image, I like the smooth but clearly focused round blobs of snow throughout. I do agree with Gary that a crop up from the bottom might give a better balanced feel to this image. When we took our recent trip to the Canadian Rockies, we unfortunately didn't have time to visit Johnston Canyon. Maybe next time. . .but I don't think it will be in winter!

Thanks Gary and Carolyn for your replies. Here's a repost with a bit taken off the bottom as you suggested.

Carolyn, if you are returning to the Banff area and you'd like some suggestions for places to go, be sure to PM me as I know quite a few good spots for walks, hikes and scenic drives etc. in Banff, Jasper and Yoho national parks. :toast:

Beautiful photo, should be a poster, I like best the cropped one, and I agree with everyone, the golden reflection makes all the difference
