Michigan is getting hammered by a winter storm that will produce a significant amount of ice and snow. I went out a few minutes ago and found this seed head of a tulip tree that was back lit. The drop of water was beginning to freeze so I took 8 shots at f5.6 with my 180mm Sigma macro (K5 IIs, manual, 1/400sec, natural light. I stacked the images with Zerene Stacker and adjusted levels and sharpened the image with Topaz Detail. Thank you for looking....................Jim

While you are getting hammered with a winter storm. . .we are having record high temperatures. Not sure any of our snow that is still on the ground will make it until Christmas. Interesting seed head. . .even in winter some treasures are out there to be found. Good isolation from the background, although a slight crop up from the bottom may be helpful.

Very nice, Jim. I like the natural colors and it was a good choice to invest the time in shooting multiple shots to put the entire plant in focus without sacrificing the bokeh in the back. The result is a very 3D appearance.

Very nice Jim. I like the back light, great details & BG.
I agree with Carolyn, a bit off the bottom would balance the comp.
Merry Christmas! :toast:
