Duck & Turtle + addition

I am putting this under wildlife rather than Avian in that it depicts two species of wildlife rather than just a creature from the avian classification. I always love to come upon species inter-relating - especially mixed species. I found it amusing that this turtle seemed to be fascinated by, and seemed to follow this duck around.

Looks more like a turtle to me than a frog
Cool capture all the same. Good moment :toast:

I was just about ready to move this to Avian, based on the thumbnail. The storyline and inclusion of the little turtle made me smile! Happy holidays!

Thanks Lon, happy holidays to you! I post enough in avian and if I can find an excuse to post elsewhere, I'm going to take it!

Pleasing capture, just about missed that little head poking up. I wonder if the turtle was being a bit territorial towards the duck? I am noticing a slight blue cast to the overall image, might dial back the blue a little in post-processing. I accept that the sky was a beautiful cerulean colour, just seeing a bit too much in the duck and turtle.

Thanks Gary, how that I look at it through your eyes, I agree. I did a bit of PP to bring out the turtle better. Here is what it looked like prior to that:

Thanks for showing the original Sandy. I think the saturation is ok in the original, I would personally reduce the exposure a little, warm it up a bit and call it a day.

Thanks Gary. I'm still struggling with PP, but here it is with slightly less exposure and slightly more warmth.

The final repost is definitely an improvement, might be just a bit too dark now imho.

Gary, I agree now that I look at it after posting. I'll play with it. Thanks. I'm about to post a portrait of a Wood Stork that I really like - hope I don't get murdered too badly!

I hear those avian guys are brutal! (Just put to use everything you picked up in Wildlife and you'll get away in one piece)
