Dinner Time

This bat was getting a nice treat of a banana. I wanted to capture his enthusiasm. The bat area of the zoo is always dark, so that is one problem. The bats are behind glass, which has been smudged by many hands and noses. Plus, using a flash near the glass was a challenge. I took a number of photos at different angles to the glass. Pressing the camera flush to the glass at an unsmudged spot produced the desired effect. There was a bit of flash on the banana, which showed up as white spots, which I cloned out.

It not only minimizes distortion, but provides good support in the low light as you know..
Well done!
Just since Nov. 15th, some wonderful photos have been posted of tigers, birds, wolves and reindeer by Howard Cheek, Ken Watkins, Joseph James, Chet Dowell, and John Tobias! Howard's swimming tiger and Ken's cubs are a must see. And they are posted in the POP category ---"This "non-nature" photo gallery is for the serious discussion of photographic technique and thoughtful, constructive critique of those photos . As long as it’s G-rated, non-offensive and suitable for all viewers, anything goes."
I would argue, that the photos I've mentioned are nature photos, not photos of objects and places, per se.
P.S.: I just posted this in the NPN Forum for discussion. If any of you would like a zoo gallery, PLEASE add your opinion to this forum.
Thanks, Lucy
