Warmer Climes

It was zero degrees F outside my house this morning, and it got me thinking about warmer summer adventures, and the fact that I never put together the images I took of Horseshoe Bend in June for this panorama. For some reason looking at this scene makes me feel warmer. ;)

The pano is stitched from 6 vertical frames, each 24mm, f/22, 0.8 seconds. Your thoughts? Suggestions for improvement? This is one of my first attempts at adding a slight Orton effect, so any feedback on that would also be helpful. Trying to remove the lens flare here was beyond my current pp skills. Please view large version. Happy weekend to ya. :wavey:

Nice pano of this scene, almost a fisheye feel and nicely draws you in.
I think a darker sky would look nice.

tip for the flare. take a shot with your hand blocking the sun. then blend them together later. dig the comp though. nice :)

Nice pano Jared. I was too scared to stand by the edge when I was there. I actually like the flare for this shot. Nice work!

I love the pano format here. I'm not a big fan of the flare. I would wish for some more room at the top.

The extreme wide angle pano view is highly immersive, almost dizzying. The light in the canyon is very nice and the flare seems well controlled.

Fun. Feels a bit like I'm an fun house with mirrors. The warm light is indeed nice, and you've handled it well.

Quite an amazing scene, Jared, and I'm enjoying the nice warm light in this scene. I'm ok with the flare because it just feels good looking at this!

Very nice panoramic view, and I think that's the best way to go with this location. Beautiful work. I'm not wild about the flare but it's an impressive scene nonetheless.

Nice pano, Jared. I wish there was a bit more sky and less flare. I might also like a little more rock in the mid foreground. The color looks nice and warm.

I really like this take on Horseshoe--cool! (and warm). Sometimes flare adds to a shot--here i think its a bit too much, the old finger/hand in front of the sun trick would be useful. :wavey:

Really cool shot Jared, the curvature at the bottom really gives the impression of falling into the photograph. I do agree that the flare should be toned down a bit as well as have a bit more sky at the top. Those are minor though, this is a really great take on a classic spot.

Very nice! The panoramic - almost fisheye - view emphasizes the roundness of the geology. Very well done.
I do also like the flare, why not? I wear glasses, and see flare all the time the sun enters my field of view...

Very cool dude! I have done this same type of stitch here many times and loved the wild perspective result. This works great. All I am wanting is more sky detail. Still powerful. :toast:

I really like this as it's a different treatment. I've not seen this image so "tight," and that's what appeals to me about it. Great idea and capture...
