Ponderosa Pine

Thank you for your comments on my previously posted images.

I found this nice Ponderosa Pine detail in El Capitan Meadow, Yosemite.

I did a slight vignette burn in order to emphasize the central 'plate'. This detail is only about 10 inches wide.

Please see the large version. Thanks.

I think this is well developed for texture and color. Compositionally, it feels a bit tight.

I get happily lost in the details of the large version; I want to reach out and touch them too. And, while I'm at it, enjoy the scent of pine I know was about.

Love the details and textures Preston. Why do I always see faces and animals in these nature abstracts? Great work.

Pareidolia, that's why, Eva
Works for me, Preston, Ponderosas always seem to make for good abstracts. Oh, and if i turn it sideways i see a horned toad.

This is a wonderful abstract of the ponderosa with great detail and color. You captured the feeling of the texture very well. Nicely done. Chet

Always interesting bark patterns with ponderosa's.
I think it would look nice with a looser crop.

Looks great man! Nice textured image. :toast:

My only nit would be its overall sharpness. I think it could handle a little more advanced web sharpening and at least to me increase it textural appeal a tad.
