Honey Bear Swimming
by William Bickle
Amazing Bear Interactions were watched with amazement and learned so much from Brad on this amazing Adventure.
It is breeding season, at this time of year, and the male bears are seeking out the females . This young female honey-coloured grizzly swimming in the Khutzeymateen estuary waters to elude the male bear, who is interested in Breeding. The male bear shadowed her constantly and she was always aware of his location to her, she has not reached her acceptance yet for the Male but allowing him to get closer each day. As time went by, the honey-coloured female allowed him to get closer.
Rain was our constant companion with the sun breaking through briefly only one day. This capture was taken mid day with overcast skies but still quite harsh and contrasty conditions…..At ISO 2500 , this image has a contrasty look because of tone compression due to a narrow range of colour (thin Dynamic Range ) while using the D700 . (This was pointed out to me recently by NPCMG)

12 commentsThis is a remarkable image pin sharp with great detail, in particular the nose
With the limited resolution on NPN , the Images don't really show to their potential, mostly.
thanks Very much for your feedback, Very much Appreciated!:)

Sweet Photo Bill!!!
Thanks Ken. She is a Beauty to see Close Up!!! The waters here are calm mostly but the strong tide does show flow at times in certain places where it narrows. The ripples are from her being in the water before her swim towards the zodiac.
Reflections are Very Strong , with strong saturation everpresent. Did not mention but have desaturated a small amount in this image.
Without actually being there , it is hard to convey the amazing natural saturated colours.
PS... love to see your winning Images of this years Natures Best !!!
