Due to a wet and windy fall I have not been able to get out much so here is one from last year that I finally processed. Fortunately the winds look like they will lay down a bit so hopefully I'll be able to get out for a paddle tomorrow.

David, your posts have been extraordinary lately, and I always enjoy them. This one is no exception. The composition and tonal values are wonderful. Well done, sir!

What a formidable subject here, David. The girth of the cypress(s) at the base is amazing. The B&W is perfect for this scene too. Very nice work....

another super image from this astonishing place. maybe a slightly lower perspective to give a little more separation between the two trees? tones are lovely.

Beautiful tones and composition David. The tree in the mist is wonderful also. Another beauty from the swamps. Great job again.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Stuart,,,,,,I was at the depth limit of my waders so a lower perspective would have been a cold wet one. The solution would be to get a little closer (and wider) but that would have put me in deeper water. As always, composition is a compromise.

Cool shot and your tonal separation looks top notch. What do you use for your conversions? Like how the jagged reflection points back into the image, especially toward the misty tree. Was your thought on comp. to highlight the distant tree by including only a portion of the FG tree? I guess the smaller tree might have been lost with the larger tree and hence, more image around it. Dig it :toast:

Thanks David - The conversion looked great - nice to know it was a simple process! Short is sweet, no problem :toast:

Harry,,,,, I used a PS b&w layer for the conversion. The comp was determined mainly by the surrounding trees which did not allow isolating the fg tree. Sorry for the short reply but I hate typing on my phone.
